Complete Logistics
A full-stack logistics platform operating in the USA — handling freight requests, client onboarding, and real-time shipment tracking.
The Problem
Complete Logistics had no digital system for clients to submit freight requests. Everything was handled manually over phone and email — slow, error-prone, and unscalable.
The Goal
Build a professional web platform that allows clients to submit logistics requests online, track shipment status, and receive automated communications — reducing manual overhead by 70%.
My Role
I served as the sole engineer and product lead. I handled architecture decisions, UI/UX design, frontend development, backend API engineering, database design, and deployment.
Challenges
- 1
Designing a freight request flow that was simple for non-technical clients but captured all necessary operational data.
- 2
Building a real-time status update system without overcomplicating the infrastructure for a lean team.
- 3
Ensuring the platform performed reliably across US time zones with high uptime requirements.
The Solution
Built a Next.js full-stack application with a structured multi-step request form, a PostgreSQL-backed admin dashboard for operations, automated email notifications via Resend, and a clean public-facing marketing site.
Lessons Learned
Operational software needs to be designed around the user's mental model, not the developer's data model.
Multi-step forms dramatically reduce submission errors when used with proper validation at each step.
Investing time in the admin experience pays off — operators spend more time in dashboards than clients do.
